Biodegradeable Food Packaging

The Problem

In general the majority of our waste is disposed of in Landfills, imagine the tremendous amounts of food packaging that end up in the Landfills? Much of the food packaging used today is comprised of unrecyclable plastics such as foamed polystyrene.

This is how long each of these products takes to decompose in the environment…

... every Styrofoam Lunch box takes over a millions years to decompose!

The Solution

Decorus Concepts is a market leader of distributing and marketing many types of compostable plastic products. Our main products includes 100% biodegradable raw material, 100% biodegradable film products and 100% biodegradable containers of which can be used in many fields including packaging, catering, medicine and agriculture.

Our products are generally made from corn starch. It is compostable material and can be 100% biodegraded in a natural way in a very short time period. This helps solve the problem of “white plastic pollution” in the world. Biodegradable plastic material is the best choice to replace traditional plastic.

We insist on a policy of sustainable development and dedicate ourselves to the marketing and distribution of eco-friendly products.

A graphic illustration of the degrading process

Corn starch products will degrade naturally from microorganisms and other natural processes over a short period of time. This can occur in a wide variety of environments and will not result in toxic residues.

Fruit and vegetable packaging trays can now be fully biodegradable and like the actual produce they contain, can return to the soil and decompose quite naturally. The terms biodegradable and compostable are interchangeable as they both refer to the natural biological degrading process by which plant material is broken down and the components returned to the soil.

Biodegradable or compostable packaging is preferable to recyclable packaging because recyclable packaging, though better than non recyclable packaging, still requires external energy to be provided to bring about the recycling process. Biodegradable or compostable packaging does not require this as it is simply part of the natural cycle.
